Britain prepares to leave the European Union:
Prime Minister Boris Jonson has been tasked with negotiating a contract with the EU which will ensure that the British pound won’t be hit hard by Britain’s decision to leave the EU. Britain originally joined the predecessor to the EU the European Communities, back in 1973. Whether Brexit ends up boosting Britain’s economy or adversely affecting Britain’s economy, is yet to be seen and will depend greatly upon the contracts which Boris Jonson is able to negotiate and sign.
Teenage climate activist and environmentalist Greta Thunberg becomes an international sensation:
Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg made international headlines when she sailed from Sweden to the USA in order to give a heart felt speech at the United Nations Climate Action Summit. Thunberg decided to sail to the summit as she believed that flying would contribute to the planet’s carbon emissions. One of the reasons why Thunberg’s impassioned speech made international headlines is that she confidently blamed the generations before her for allegedly ruining her child hood and failing to protect the environment.
Since giving her famous speech at the United Nationals Climate Action Summit, Thunberg has travelled to Canada in order to lead large scale climate change protests. Following Thunberg’s lead thousands of climate change protests have been held around the world, in the hopes of convincing international leaders to put new laws in place to try and curb carbon missions and climate change.
39 Dead bodies were found in a truck in Essex:
Police discovered 39 dead bodies in a truck in Essex all of which belonged to Chinese nationals who were believed to have been illegally smuggled into the country through Belgium. British police have been questioning the driver of the truck, who may be charged with the deaths of all 39 of the individuals who were found dead in his truck.
Although the British police have also investigated several private properties which belong to illegal criminal syndicates who have been thought to be involved in the illegal smuggling of individuals into the UK. It is unclear if the Chinese nations were simply smuggled into the UK or if they were trafficked to the UK as slaves, without their consent.
President Trump has been forced to undergo an official impeachment enquiry:
While President Trump’s detractors have been crying for Trump to be impeached for the past few years, an official impeachment enquiry has now been opened against Trump. As a result of some phone calls, which have been released which have implicated President Trump in alleged illegal activity. Whether President Trump will get to enjoy the rest of his first term in office, is yet to be seen as if he is officially impeached, the Republicans will have to choose another head of state to lead the country ahead of the next presidential election. Which is set to take place next year, in 2020.
