4 Tips for Managing Menopause

February 5, 2021

Menopause comes with getting older for women, but the menopause symptoms can sometimes be difficult to manage, despite their inevitability. If you’re used to living a full, active life, then the hot flashes, night sweats, dizziness, and the entire menopause transition can be hard to handle. Everything from your body type to the underwear you choose can affect your mood and hot flashes.

Just because you’re at the age when menopause symptoms begin doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to continue working, playing, and spending time with family and friends, just as you always have. In this article, you’ll find a few tips for managing menopause that will help you through the transition.

1. Reduce your stress levels.

For many women, perimenopause and menopause cause stress levels to hit record highs. Stress can increase the mood swings, the hot flashes, and the irritability associated with menopause. For example, if your car is constantly breaking down, you’re going to be stressed, which will make your menopause symptoms even worse than they already are. If you’re having problems paying your car payment, you’d be surprised that lower monthly payments can help your triggers. Check into getting an answer to the question of what is a car balloon payment and how it can benefit you. A balloon payment is a lump sum added to the end of your car loan, like a final payment.

Getting a balloon payment to help with your monthly payment can go a long way towards reducing your stress levels and controlling your menopause symptoms. Contact a reputable lender and check into a balloon loan for your monthly payment today. It may not solve the hormone imbalance, but it may impact the severity of hot flashes you experience.

2. Get to know your menopause triggers.

During menopause, hot flashes have triggers that cause them. There are some common hot flash triggers to watch for. Alcohol and caffeine can trigger a hot flash for women in perimenopause or menopause pretty easily. If you love spicy foods, it’s better to give it a rest when your menopause symptoms flare up, because spice can make the hot flashes and the night sweats even harder to deal with.

Other triggers to watch with menopause and hot flashes include hot weather, stress levels, and warm, tight clothes. It’s best to avoid all of these triggers if you want to cut down on having a hot flash when you’re out in public, at work, or even just sitting in your living room watching TV. According to the severity of hot flashes, you might need to contact your doctor for further treatment.

3. Always dress in layers.

Any woman who has ever been through menopause can tell you that hot flashes are one of the most common and frustrating menopause symptoms to deal with. You can combat the hot flashes by dressing in layers. Find out the best underwear for your body type, and then wear whatever makes you comfortable. Whether it’s boxer briefs, thongs, bikinis, or trunks, whatever makes you comfortable is what you should wear to get through hot flashes, as there’s no cure for them as of yet.

The underwear you choose should be light, cotton, and allow your body to breathe. Dressing in layers will help you get through those hot flashes because you can remove the layers as needed. However, starting with your underwear and your bra is one way to stay cool during menopause.

4. Drink plenty of water and exercise.

The side effects of menopause can be overwhelming at times. From the hot flashes and irritability to feeling too hot and hormone-induced mood swings, getting through this time can be tough. One way to control the hot flashes is by drinking plenty of water and taking daily walks. Your body type and how you handle the menopause symptoms can also impact how you feel.

These are just a few tips for dealing with your menopause symptoms and the hot flashes and night sweats that are a part of this time of life. Make sure to choose the lightest and most comfortable underwear and bra, and then reduce those stress levels for the best results.
