Even though some countries and regions are beginning to ease lockdown measures there is still a very real chance that we could see a second or third wave of the CoVId-19 pandemic. There are also a great number of people who are still respecting the lockdown and many in the medical community like Lisa Cannon MD have been discussing the importance of looking after your health during this tough time. There is a vast array of reasons why it is important to eat well, get plenty of exercise and avoid the temptation to become lazy or overdo the guilty pleasures, which we are going to look into now.
The Virus
One of the biggest reasons why you have to ensure that your health is every bit as good as it can be is that those who are suffering most from the virus which has swept the world are those people who are not in good shape and who have underlying health conditions. There isn’t too much that can be done if you do have health conditions but you can most certainly do something abut your health. If you invest the time now in keeping yourself in good shape then you will have a much better chance of dealing with the virus should you get it.
Mental Health
This pandemic is a testing time for us all and that is why everyone has to be more aware than ever before about their mental wellbeing, ensuring that they are taking actions to maintain a positive and a focused frame of mind. Physical exercise may not be the perfect solution to all mental woes but it is most certainly a beneficial activity to do which will help you to feel a bit better. When we exercise our bodies release feel good chemicals called endorphins and that is why you get that buzz after you have had a good session at the gym. Although you are on lockdown it is still possibly to get 30 minutes of exercise each day to help you feel better and also look better.
Temptations
The truth is that this is a strange time for us all and there is very much the temptation, because we are at home all day, to relax on the sofa, binge watch TV shows and eat junk food, but that is not going to do us any favors at all. There is a great deal of temptation, especially for those who are living on their own, but you have to consider the fact that sooner or later things will be back to normal and you have to ask yourself how you want to leave lockdown, do you want to come out looking great, or looking like you’ve indulged in every temptation available? Surely the former is a better idea.
Make sure that you see this time as an opportunity to become a healthier and happier you, and not go the other way.
