In the interest of looking at things positively today we are not going to focus on those industries and sectors which are having such a hard time of it because of the pandemic. We are instead going to lay our focus on the post-pandemic and take a look into what industries and sectors are going to thrive following all of this. The world waits patiently as we look to get this vaccine rolled out across the world, and once that happens here are the sectors which are really going to boom.
Construction
I watched a fantastic video with construction group CEO Bryan Cumby last month, who cannot wait for all of this to be over so that he and his company can get back to building. This is certainly an industry which is going to do well after the pandemic because of the fact that so many projects from the last 12 months have been cancelled or put on hold. The benefit which many of these projects had, was that they were pre-funded, and that has ensured that the plug will not be pulled on them.
Travel and Tourism
There is not doubt about the fact that the world of travel and tourism has been completely decimated by this pandemic, and that is something which is going to go the other way once all of this is over. Ultimately once we get the green light to say that the world is open there will be an absolute explosion of travel and we will see those companies which have survived in this sector really thrive, like never before.
Leisure
The leisure industry is another which has really bore the brunt of this virus and the subsequent lockdown, and that is why we can also expect this sector to do very well once all of this is over. This means that restaurants and bars will be full, music venues will once again be pumping, cinemas and theaters will be filled to the rafters and there will once again be music, culture, love and laughter.
Small Businesses
It is my firm belief that this leveler that the world has seen, has had some positive impacts. The key one being that we have once again recognized some of that sense of community which we had long lost, and this is a very positive thing. This will have a hugely important impact on small businesses and that is because in the last 12 months so many of us have aimed to support those businesses which have been on our doorstep. It is true that the likes of Amazon have done incredibly well, but as the pandemic wore on, we have certainly seen a sharp rise in the use of mom and pop operations and that is something that we can expect to really go into overdrive once all of this is over and done with.
There is some positivity coming, we just have to hang on a little longer.
